Cosmetics Regulation
Regulatory Strategy
EU & UK Responsible Person
Following BREXIT, every product sold in the UK must have a designated UK Responsible Person (RP) to ensure adherence to the UK Cosmetic Regulation. The Cosmetic Regulator can serve as your Responsible Person for both the EU and UK markets.
PIFs
All cosmetic products sold in the UK and EU must be accompanied by a Product Information File (PIF). The Cosmetic Regulator can compile and manage these files for you, regardless of whether they are appointed as the designated Responsible Person (RP).
Claims & Labelling Reviews
Product claims and labelling must be carefully evaluated for compliance with relevant regulations. Reviewing claims can be challenging, especially in the highly competitive cosmetic market. Additionally, labelling is influenced not only by Cosmetic Product Regulations but also by other applicable UK and EU regulations.
Formulation Review & INCI List Generation
All ingredients, whether added intentionally or unintentionally, must comply with the Cosmetic Product Regulation and other relevant regulations, such as REACH and CLP. The product must also display the correct INCI name for each ingredient, accurately reflecting all components of the formulation.
EU CPNP & UK SCPN
Cosmetic products in the UK and EU must be registered on the UK SCPN and/or EU CPNP databases. The Cosmetic Regulator ensures accurate creation and ongoing management of these notifications throughout the product's lifecycle.
